It is a Barbera del Monferrato Doc which, after the vinification, is kept in barriques (small barrels containing 225 liters) to mellow for 10/12 months, and sold only after having spent another year in the bottle to refine. It is a dry and full bodied wine, its color is an intense ruby red, particularly suitable for strong meats, roasts, and mature cheeses. It reaches its best when served at 16°-18° C. Suitable for ageing - Better to drink after 2 years in the bottle. This wine has been assigned the "Torchio d'Oro' prize in 2000. |
