Recently, we have taken an initiative with a double goal: renewing the image of the Vellano products and promoting, as much as possible, the different aspects of the Monferrato culture, of which wine is one of the most significant expressions. The idea to combine figurative arts with the wine world! This idea has given birth to the new Vellano wine labels, designed by an artist living in Camino but internationally famous: Enrico Colombotto Rosso. So, Barbera, Dolcetto and Cortese labels reproduce, with different subjects, the drawings by Colombotto Rosso, specifically made for this purpose.
Enrico Colombotto Rosso was born in Turin in 1925. Author and painter of drawings and big dimension works of art, he was also a document writer, photographer and biographer for theater and cinema. In 1952 he started working as an artist in Italy, France and United States with 3 personal exhibitions. After prestigious international achievements, in the 90s he moved to a big atelier house on the Monferrato hills, in Camino, where he is living until now. There, in 1997, he created the Fountadion Colombotto Rosso which is active in the fields of conservation and study of paintings and their destination. In March 2000, a big personal exhibition took place in Turin, organized by the Region of Piedmont, where the artists main paintings from 1956 till 2000 were shown.
